As I said in a previous lesson, the manifest file is the brain for a tv channel.

It is where you can "mess up " the easiest and render your channel/app useless if you make the wrong settings.

The whole file has about 30 lines of code.

Some are DO Not Touch lines; others are Must Change lies.

Double-click the manifest file and use your operating system's simplest text version to edit it. On Windows, that should be Notepad.

After your files open, you should see the following lines of code.

title=Channel ( here you should replace Channel with your Channel Name)

major_version=1( the following three lines don't have a real use, but they can help you follow your app evolution, so you should use them. Major versions refer to big design and functionality changes, minor versions refer to small changes like text color - an image, and so on. and the built version refers to the different complications of the same channel setup)

minor_version=0

build_version=0

The following three lines are DO Not Touch lines. It is the location of your branding images.

Another DO Not Touch line. This line "allows" channel monetization and preloads the ad library if set up correctly.

The following three lines are DO Not Touch lines. It is the location of your branding images.

Another DO Not Touch line. It is the default resolution for your channel/app

Another DO Not Touch line. It is the main "command" that launches the Channel.

Another DO Not Touch line. It is the basic command that tells the app to take the content from the feed URL

' Update content feed URL

In the following line, you MUST change the URL to the feed URL from your TV Boss Fire channel setup page.

Another DO Not Touch line. It tells the channel/app to update the "design" elements of your channel/ app.

OverhangLogoUri=pkg:/images/OverhangLogoHD.png(this is the location of your channel logo)

You can change the color and image from some channel elements in the next lines. Notice the # sign and the beginning on the line. If you want to activate the code line - remove/ delete the # from the beginning.

Remember that every extra activated code line will overwrite the existing design. For example, activating the OverhangTitle will overwrite the channel logo, and so on. The easiest way to "experiment" and understand all these settings is if you use the test/ work channel and activate them individually - then see the changes on your TV screen.

When you finished with your setup - save the changes using your keyboard. In Windows, it should be CTR+ S.

This will ensure that the file name and format will be saved unchanged - only the content - the changes you made inside the file will be changed.
